10 Oriental Mangrove plants 2-4" inches long. The Large Leafed Orange Mangrove, which is most of the time called Oriental Mangroves, is unique because of its exquisitely beautiful blossoms. Moreover it is easy to care for, especially in terrariums or aquariums, which is why the oriental mangroves is one of my absolute favourites.

The plant can be grown in an aquarium

tolerates fresh water / brackish water / salt water

it filters the water (nitrates & phosphates) - whereby it improves the quality of the water

it grows quickly

average seed size is 2-4 inches

also grows very well in pots (needs sand & humidity)

Which Mangroves are perfect for fresh water aquariums?

Red & Grey Mangroves due to their tolerance of high levels of salinity, warmth & cold as well as light - ideal for salt water aquariums. Yellow and Oriental Mangroves are ideal for salt water aquariums since they can also tolerate high levels of salinity, not as high as the red mangrove, but a level of 1.025 can easily be tolerated.

Oriental Mangroves grow rapidly (one pair of leaves every 1-2 weeks.
